Anti-Crime Task Force

The Anti-Crime Task Force is comprised by law enforcement officials in the 47 communities of Hampshire and Franklin counties and the town of Athol; Massachusetts State Police, federal law enforcement agencies and assistant district attorneys.

Estabished in March 2013 with a $81,288 grant awarded by the state’s Community Innovation Challenge Grant Program, the Task Force helps local law enforcement agencies identify, investigate and prosecute illegal narcotics offenses, unlawful firearms offenses, gang-related crimes, major crimes, human trafficking and other organized criminal activities.

The Task Force increases the ability of law enforcement officials to target crimes specific to the communities of the Northwestern District by allowing law enforcement agencies to pool resources and operate beyond a single town’s jurisdiction.
