***UPDATED*** Charlemont man arraigned in connection with Northampton bank robbery, held as dangerous

David Jones, 38, of Charlemont was arraigned by teleconference in Northampton District Court today on a charge of armed and masked robbery in connection with a robbery at People's United Bank on King Street in Northampton yesterday, Feb. 25.

Jones is alleged to have demanded money from a teller, implying that he had a gun, around 11:20 a.m. He was apprehended by Massachusetts State Police outside a residence at Heath Stage Road in Charlemont about an hour later.

He is being held without the right to bail pending a March 3 dangerousness hearing. ***UPDATE*** Jones is being held as dangerous following the March 3 hearing. He is due back in court on March 31.
