Winchenden man arrested
After gas tank tampering, man barred from Hampshire County

NORTHAMPTON  – An alert passerby who informed staff at the Big Y in Southampton that he’d seen a man putting a substance into the gas tank of a vehicle parked outside the store led police to arrest the suspect who was arraigned on charges in Northampton District Court today.

Alexander K. Yee, 37, of Winchendon, MA, pleaded not guilty to charges of malicious damage to a motor vehicle and breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony.  Yee is alleged to have committed the offenses on Sunday, November 14.

Northwestern First Assistant District Attorney Steven Gagne proposed that bail be set at $10,000.00 cash, and that if Yee posts bail, he be equipped with an electronic monitoring bracelet and stay out of Hampshire County in its entirety.

Defense Attorney Robert LaFlamme did not object to the bail or conditions. District Court Judge Jennifer Tyne set that bail and continued the case for a pretrial conference on Dec. 14, 2021.
