Athol man to be arraigned on murder and other charges in November death of Kelsey Clifford of Leominster

Keith Hamel, 23, of Athol, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in Franklin Superior Court on murder and other charges in connection with the Nov. 11, 2019 death of Kelsey Clifford, 26, of Leominster. 

Hamel was previously arraigned in Orange District Court on Nov. 20, 2019 on a charge of murder and is being held without bail. He has since been indicted and faces murder and additional charges.

Clifford's body was found outside the entrance to the Athol Wastewater Treatment Facility in the early-morning hours of Nov. 11,  2019.  

Her death was jointly investigated by the Athol Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detectives Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.
