The Shifting Landscape of Opioid Addiction for Law Enforcement and Dispatch, sponsored by the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and Hampshire HOPE, is a free training for members of law enforcement and emergency dispatchers will be presented on Nov. 13, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Look Park Garden House.
The workshop will address historical and current trends in drug trafficking, the rise of fentanyl in drug supply saturation and pressed pills, how current drug trends impact law enforcement and dispatchers, and the physiology of addiction. This training will also cover how the tools of fair and impartial policing can be useful in addressing this public health and safety issue in our communities. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
Presenters will be Chicopee Police Officer Jeff Couture, who is a consultant with Commonwealth Police Services and University of Massachusetts Deputy Chief Ian Cyr, who is a nationally certified Fair and Impartial Policing instructor.
