Bail hearing set for Feb. 14 in Granby-Hadley child rapes case
Defendant Frank L. Stanley, 40, of Hadley, appeared in Hampshire Superior Court today, Jan. 24, 2012, in connection with multiple child rape, indecent assault and battery and related charges.
Judge Mary Lou Rup agreed that he should continue to be held on $50,000 bail or $500,000 surety and set a bail hearing for Feb. 14 in Hampshire Superior Court.
Frank was arraigned in Eastern Hampshire District Court on Dec. 1, after having fled the area when he learned he would be facing charges. He was arrested in New Port Richey, Fla.
Stanley was later indicted by a Hampshire County grand jury and faces charges in Hampshire Superior Court for crimes against three separate victims.
In connection with the first victim, he has been charged with 4 counts of rape, 3 counts of indecent assault and battery, 1 count of unnatural and lascivious acts with a child under 16, and 2 counts of dissemination of materials harmful to minors.
In connection with the second victim, he faces 2 counts of indecent assault and battery.
In the case of the third victim, he is charged with 2 counts of rape and 3 counts of posing and exhibiting a child in the state of nudity.
The incidents which led to the charges occurred in Hadley and Granby in the period between 2000 and 2011.
